About Me

I live in north central Massachusetts and have been reenacting for several years.  I play both male and female roles in my unit, but my primary role is as a woman, distaff/camp follower for our weekend encampments.  Since joining my unit, I do a majority of the weekend cooking, making sure our unit is well fed for five of the six meals we enjoy together.  This includes planning, shopping, preparing and, on the day of, cooking the meals, in front of visitors, with the generous help of some of our other distaff.

I've also found myself sewing for many members of our unit, and assisting others with learning how to sew themselves.   Some have taken quite a liking to it.   We also have other members of our distaff who sew for the unit.   I have also conducted wool spinning demonstrations and also table/box loom weaving which produces tape for hat bands, garters, apron strings etc.

When I am in my male kit, a fairly new endeavor personally, and secondary to my distaff role, it is when we are on parade, or local stationary display, where I assist with music, playing fife.

My modern life includes a family, two kids, nearly college age, my husband, a dog and chickens.  I also work full time as a Special Educator.
