Men's Kit Offerings

For a male impression to be kitted properly for 1775/76 minuteman/militia you will need the following clothing items, that I can provide:

  • Linen or wool shirt
  • Linen neck cloth or buckled cravat
  • Wool breeches or trousers
  • Wool, linen or silk waistcoat (vest)
  • Wool or linen frock coat or jacket
  • Hat, knitted stocking cap, cocked wool round hat or round hat
  • Wool cloak if it's cold
  • Linen canvas knapsack or linen market wallet
  • Men's half-gaiters

  • You'll also need a musket, cartridge box, cheesebox canteen, hat & shoes.

All of the kit items I create are machine sewn on their main inside seams (these seams are not visible from the outside, like long inseams, back seams etc) but all visible stitching is hand finished to a five-foot standard (you can't tell it has machine sewing from more than five feet away)

I require in-person fitting for pattern and 'muslin', which is a test-assembly prior to cutting into fashion fabrics.

Therefor, for any fitted garments, travel may be required, and often multiple fittings may be necessary. My service area includes central New England area, and my focus centers on this area for mid 1770's fashion as well.

The following items can be ordered without fittings:

  • Shirt (some measurements will be needed)
  • Neck cloth
  • Linen handkerchief
  • Linen cravat without buckle (neck measurement will be required)
  • Knapsack
  • Market wallet
  • Wool cloak
  • Half-gaiters / Spatterdashes (measurements will be necessary)

I do not keep items in stock.  All items are custom made to order therefor have a lead time including fabric selection and sizing/fitting.  Lead time for every single item varies, and times will be based on current workload and material availability.   These details will be discussed when you make contact to talk about your needs.
