For a woman's impression to be kitted properly for 1775/76 distaff, you will need the following clothing items that I can provide:
- Linen, wool or cotton shift (linen or wool are safest for all weather conditions)
- Properly fitted stays (or well fitted sports bra*)
- Multiple linen or wool petticoats, silk is ok, but not recommended for all weather conditions
- "English" style gown in wool or linen with matching stomacher and robings appropriate for class portrayal
- Linen or wool bedgown worn with sports bra (if stays are out of budget)
- Pockets
- Linen or wool apron with custom or standard ties
- Linen, cotton or silk neck handkerchief, worn outside of gown
- White linen cap (not a mob/mop cap)
- Optional silk bonnet or low crown straw hat
- Wool cloak if it's cold
- Market wallet or pillow case (optional)
- You'll also want stockings and proper shoes & a hat pin
All of the kit items I create are machine sewn on their main inside seams (these seams are not visible from the outside, like long inseams, back seams etc) but all visible stitching is hand finished to a five-foot standard (you can't tell it has machine sewing from more than five feet away)
**************************I require in-person fitting for pattern and 'muslin', which is a test-assembly prior to cutting into fashion fabrics. **************************
Therefor, for any fitted garments, travel may be required, and often multiple fittings may be necessary. My service area includes central New England area, and my focus centers on this area for mid 1770's fashion as well.
The following items can be ordered without fittings:
- Shift (some measurements will be needed)
- Neck handkerchief
- Pockets
- Apron
- Market wallet
- Wool cloak
